Helping and advising clients understanding their dogs including canine body language and what this means for both the owner and their dog. This is helpful when approaching other dogs when you are out walking with your dog, it can give confidence and allow you to make decisions.

I instruct owners on how to approach their pet dog’s behaviour problems whilst working to my plan of action the issues can be resolved in a positive way for both owners and dogs leading to a better understanding of your pet dog and his/hers needs for the happy future together (The list of these are covered below) also basic training lessons for first time owners with a new puppies advise on how to manage a strong willed puppy by applying positive training methods.

Choosing to rehome a rescue dog is something many people like the idea of which I think is a wonderful selfless thing to do. I am here to help if any advice is needed. Sometimes a little help with settling your rescue dog into a new environment can be helpful this again is done in the form of a training modification plan which I implement through positive reinforcement methods.

I DO NOT USE AVERSIVE TECHNIQUES

I have empathy with people and their concerns and worries also a lifelong affection towards all animals which is how I was drawn into my chosen profession as this involve both of these.

My clients have told me I am personable and find my instructions easy to follow. Giving them confidence to continue forward proving good results.

The satisfaction I gain from giving my help make my job very rewarding for both me and my clients and their dogs. I am a Positive reinforcement trainer: this involves consistency with treat training / plenty of praise / time and patience.

My Services

All modification plans are bespoke tailored to suit both you and your dog / there are no quick fixes to a behavioural problem human or canine!

All modification plans are best placed in your home and environments your dog feels happy to visit, the new trained behaviour will have lasting effects.

Environmental changes can be stressful situations that your dog can feel overwhelmed. I like as less stress as possible for your dog as they cannot concentrate. Whilst with you under your roof you will be able to control the environment and the results will last.

Your dog needs you! Don’t send him or her away to a camp! Your dog is a loyal and trusting member of your family and we want the bond to grow not break!

A few adjustments may need to be made to bring back the harmony and so working together with your trusty companion will strengthen your relationship.

((Think dog,,,,, they don’t hatch a plan, they live for the day))

I Instruct Owners with Issues Regarding

Dog Aggression

As a qualified dog behaviourist I regularly deal with dog aggression, I want to help people understand their dog’s behaviour, to regain control and improve the human / dog bond.

Puppy Bite Inhibition

Most puppies’ nip this is a normal behaviour they use with their litter mates. A few adjustments to this are needed when we bring them home. The pup soon understands we don’t like this form of contact.

Resource Guarding

Resource guarding refers to a dog displaying behaviour (growling, snapping, etc.) intended to convince other dogs or humans to stay away from a particular treasure or ‘resource.’ The Resource can be food, treats, toys, a place (a bed or favourite chair), or occasionally a person.

Recall

Dog recall is very important for safety and should be one of the first cue’s you teach a puppy before attempting to let him off the lead in a public place this will build a good foundation to positive steps toward a strong bond.

Basic Training

All dogs require basic training to help teach them boundaries, to avoid problems behaviours and to reinforce companionship.

Habituation

Habituation can be described as the process whereby an animal becomes accustomed to non-threating environmental stimuli and learns to ignore them.

Nervousness

Nervousness can be caused by an unnerving event your dog may have experienced. Also there are dogs who genetically carry the gene, helping these dogs can take time as extra care is needed.

Diet Advice

The importance of nutrition plays an important role in a long, healthy life for your dog. You will want to avoid stomach upsets and vet bills. A well-balanced diet containing the correct nutrients Aids intelligence helping the ability to concentrate.

I have empathy with people and their concerns and worries also a lifelong affection towards all animals which is how is was drawn into my profession as this involved both of these.

My clients have told me I am very personable and find my instructions easy to follow because I treat all my clients and their pets with individual care giving them confidence to continue forward proving good results.

After care

I am available to contact during the training and after the training programmes has finished. I will never leave client out in the cold.

Luna & Zena - Alysha

Luna & Zena - Alysha

We have a 6 year old German Shepherd and then decided to bring a new addition in to the family - our now nearly 1 year old German Shepherd X Belgian Malinois. Both are very strong dogs, they walked decent but not perfect alone but together they pulled like crazy. It was getting really frustrating as I would have to walk both dogs one after another, and after a long day at work it was tiring to get them both decent walks in. I was recommended Angie and booked my first session in. Not even half an hour in and there was already a difference in walking the pup. She stayed right next to me, listened to everything etc ...

The next challenge was walking them together. Angie suggested the Halti and both did not take to it at first. After using techniques that Angie showed me, this improved. I am now able to walk both dogs right beside me together and the walks have become so much more enjoyable. I do not worry about walking them on the main roads and taking them to unfamiliar places as my confidence in walking them together has grown drastically. Really could not have done this without Angie!

Angie has been amazing in helping us train and understand our 8 month old German Shepherd Ollie. When we were referred to Angie it was at a stage when Ollie would bark at every passing dog and try jump up at cars, to a point it got exhausting taking him out!

Angie helped us read Ollie’s body language and interpret his behaviour and within 2 weeks he stopped completely. Recently Ollie started pulling on the lead and with his size, it was near impossible to hold him back especially when he saw a squirrel! Angie advised us to try the Halti and it has been a miracle, he does not pull at all (or cannot pull even if he wanted to)! It took Ollie a couple of weeks to get used to the Halti however with persistence he has become accustomed to it and allows us to put it on without a struggle.

We have now used the Halti for a few months and what we have also noticed is that Ollie rarely tries to pull, he is naturally by our side. We would really like to thank Angie for all her help and would highly recommend Angie for her practical advise, ongoing support and knowledge in interpreting dogs’ behaviour.

From the first phone call we knew Angie was the right person for us. Her love and knowledge of dogs came across straightaway. Time was never an issue with Angie, she always made sure that the connection between our dog and us was going to be a pleasant one.

Angie helped us to understand how to connect with our new family member and taught us what signs to look for in our dogs behaviour. This gave us a better understanding and knowledge to be successful with his training.

I would definitely recommend Angie to help you with your dog.

Angie, just a quick thank you.

Kez is doing great, changed her food and treats.

Even after this short time she is a lot calmer, even made her a liver cake today and she loves it.

Thanks again.

I have known Angela for a number of years as a friend she is an energetic personable women that is always only a phone call away if i need a chat or advice . She has always had a real love for all animals taking home any injured bird to do her best to return it to the wild after nursing it back to health. So when she told me she wanted to train to be a dog behaviorist it did not come as a surprise as this involved helping another animal and also the owner.

When I decided to buy my first puppy I had no experience with owning a dog but Angela was there to give me encouragement with training and advice on canine behaviour which was very helpful so much so that I now own 3 dogs who all live happily together. I would like to add that if you feel there could be an issue with your puppy or dogs behaviour Angela will be an understanding and helpful person to advise you.

Gail Long & Woody

Gerrads Cross

I rescued a 6-year-old Toy Poodle, Woody, back in October 2015. He was a troubled soul, circling a lot of the time due to confinement for 4 months and he was fearful of most everything including my Husband and other dogs out walking.

I very much wanted the rescue to be a success and so I contacted Angela to help me.

Angela was incredibly helpful showing empathy towards Woody’s problems and quickly went to work to show me how I could change Woody’s mental blocks obviously gained from the bad treatment he had received before I brought him home.

Angela showed me how to help Woody lose his fear towards my Husband by giving my Husband treats to drop on the floor near him as he walked around the house, this was very affective.
